Alphabet Stamps for my Word Work Center
Then, later in the day my husband and I popped into TJ MAXX to look at some things for the house. So, you know I had to look in the children's section, which I think semi-annoyed my husband who didn't expect me to go teacher-y in TJ MAXX. Anyway I'm glad I did because I found two Scholastic DVD's.
One is all Maurice Sendak and includes videos of Where the Wild Things Are and two of his other books as well as an About the Author video. The second DVD I got has videos of well-known folk tale books like Strega Nona, Stone Soup, and Joseph Had a Little Overcoat.
I am very excited about all of the things I found for my classroom but I am now taking a break from shopping until I can get into my classroom and take inventory. You see, I am moving into the room where I did my student teaching, my cooperating teacher is transferring to a different school and teaching a younger grade. Although I will miss her greatly she left me a lot of things that I will be able to use; such as half of her classroom library, math games, language games, 30+ whiteboards, 25+ clipboards, a pile of construction paper, boxes of dry erase markers, office supplies, and a lot of manipulatives and other items. Since I don't know exactly everything I will be inheriting I plan on not buying anything else until I am able to get into the classroom and make sure I am not buying doubles.
I have enjoyed seeing all of your purchases throughout this linky party and finding some new blogs!

Great finds! Those file holders are lovely. Congrats on getting your new (old) room...that's so nice your cooperating teacher left so many things for you, it will be such a help. I look forward to seeing your classroom!

You did great! Love the stamps! I'm gonna have to go back and look for those. I got the file holders (2 black and white and 1 with pink and black like in your pic). They're SO pretty! Target had tons of chapter books as well. I snagged those and created a few sets! :)

I sooooo want to get to Target now!!! I can't drive for another week. :( I wonder if I can talk my husband into a trip into Victorville (city about 40 miles away that has a Target) & convince him that it's a DEAL! ;)
Thanks, Nancy
