I don't know about your state but here in good ol' Virginia third graders are required to learn about soil. When I started to plan this unit for the first time in the fall I could not find many resources that taught about what the students needed to know and was on a third grade reading level. So...I created my own activity booklet. Students begin the activity by digging up soil and examining it with a magnifying glass in groups. Then the booklet can be completely as groups, in pairs, or individually. Anywho, the complete soil booklet is now posted here on my TPT site. Below is a preview of 2 of the pages. Enjoy!
